I already own Dark Souls for PS3, but now that I have a gaming PC (i5 3.4Ghz, GTX 760, 8GB RAM, 1080p single monitor) I'm wondering if it's worth getting it on PC.

I've read it had a lot of problems that required a lot of fixes at launch.

Will it take more than 15-20 minutes to get the game running maxed/stable/60fps on PC?

If it stayed the same as I knew, it sucks badly if you just install the game by itself. You would have to download and install the unofficial patch (namely, DSfix) to get something playable.
It's nothing hard or lenghty anyway, just download the patch's executable and run it. The game is so light on the hardware that you won't have any issues on that side...

Don't know if it's actually patched now, so check that beforehand anyway.

Quick answer, no.

However as Vynavill said, there is a patch that fixes the horrible optimization it got. In the end I just bougth myself an xbone controller and tbh it's really smooth when you download graphics fixes as well.

It won't take long to fix though, just google DS fix and you're basically good to go. However playing it with keyboard & mouse isn't worth it imho. Might just be me though...

Thanks for the answers, guys. I'll have to look more into how it has been improved before I decide if it's even worth the effort. I was never planning to play it with a KB&M, lol, I'd just use my Dualshock controller, although remapping the keys would be another bother on PC...

Above are wrong to a degree... I know a few players that do really well in PVP and PVE with KB&M. DS is only 720p, but the new DSfix can scale it to 1080p with minimal issues. It also fixes frame rate drops in places light Blighttown and you can add texture packs to make everything look better. The set frame rate in the game is 30 fps, but the fix also allows you to change it to 60 fps... creating some issues with limited configurations. The only problem I have encountered since the latest DSfix update is ladder glitches. There are 2 or 3 ladders that allow you to glitch through the floor when sliding down all the way.

Well, good for them. I, for one, think that, if you can play a DSfix-ed game with KB&M, you're either "asian-level" skilled or extremely masochistic 😀
I'd actually genuinely envy a good player, in this case...

Never had the issues you mentioned on the playthrough I assisted tho. Guess I was lucky...

I play like that but Im not sure id call myself masochistic or asian level. I never used a controller for anything apart for fighitng games, so for me it is the natural way to play.
Dark souls can be moded really nicely with DS-Fix (i preferr the editable ini file rather than the exe) to make it look truly amazing.

The only thing ID add is taht apart from DSFIX, there was a mod for mice settings that was very important for me DSMFIX.
That one is for mice settings. adds some over all utility (like settings block and parry to other keys of the mice) as well as sensitivity for the mice (a must since this game was ported with controller settings in mind).

Don't listen to people that haven't actually played the game or tried to run it on potatoes. The game is much better than on console obviously, because that is the case for every PC game.

60 fps and much better graphics with DSFix, more stability, more customization, etc., etc. If that is worse to you then yeah, I guess it is worse.
