Dark souls 2 character transfer

So, I've had an outdated version of Dark souls 2, and I just finished it recently. So, since it wasn't enough, I decided to go for Scholar of the Fist Sin. But, character wouldn't be transefered. I tried various methods but most of them end up with 'corrupt save file'. Now, let me point out that I am strictly playing it in offline mode, so there must be something that I could do to transfer my characters, even though it would be minor cheating considering all the tweaks. Anything on it?
