Question dark souls remastered stuck at checking save screen

so i just installed the game and when i boot it up it sits at the checking save screen for a good 10 minutes then says theres not enough storage to create a save and loops.

things ive tried:
reinstalling multiple times in multiple locations and even drives
manually creating the save folder since its not made
running as admin
turning off read only on all folders related to the game
turning on folder protection and making the game an exception and restarting the pc
turning it back off and restarting the pc
creating exceptions in the firewall
completely disabling the firewall and antivirus

ive been religiously tryin to fix this all day and im out of possible solutions both from my own head and google so i wanted to see if maybe other people could help as this has been a thing since the game came out on steam(its on their message boards but none of the solutions posted helped me)

I have like 1.5tb free between both hard drives i meant to list that but was hoping it would be assumed id check

We can't assume anything here. We've seen some rather obvious things overlooked.

Was the game file/folder moved from one location(or drive) to another?
