darkness covering my acer monitor, help :/

i don't know what happened to my monitor but one day it was working perfectly fine and then the next morning i turn it on and it covered with this darkness over almost half the screen. also now it will turn off abruptly.

i don't know what has caused the problem to it, but where there is the darkness the monitor is very cold compared to where there is a (some-what) clear colour.
if anyone knows anything that would help

Does this remain when in games too? Does the darkness areas ever change? If not, you likely have a monitor going bad. If you can test your PC on another system, that would help confirm that it is the monitor gone bad.

ive tried it on games and it has the problem. it is always in the same place so i think it is probably gone bad
