Hey guys. I hate being the new guy on the forums but here it goes
I am new to WCing and building in general but if I can get some good guidance from the pros I am willing to give it a shot.
I read through the forums and did some research and decided this case would be cool and since it has its own custom kit with it that would make this a little easier.

I do plan on OCing and I do want it to be quiet.

Any thoughts, feelings, things I might be forgetting? Important facts I need to know before I take the dive?
I have friends with alot of tech knowledge but I want this to be my build so I want to figure things out for my self and maybe ask them for help if i really get in trouble.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

if you're going to spend that much on cpu,mb and ram, you should get a better grpahics solution than a 4870...

do you have any idea of what you're doing? read any stickies or..

from what i read, the 4870 is a very good card. also if you read the post i noted that i would be getting a second card soon and crossfiring. what would be a better graphics solution? I like ATI and that is the top car out right now except the 4870 X2. and from what i read crossfiring 2 cards is better than the X2 plus its easier to cool.

fair enough. but why do you want the extra power of i7? 1% better fps for what 5 times the price?

2 things:

That waterbox is somewhat pricey for a case. Unless you just love that case, there are others out there that work just as well.

That water kit is going to limit you in what you can do; its a single 1x120 rad...and expensive in comparision to this one at Petra's:

well I am not afraid to pay up a little. I plan on having this PC a few years and I want to have the current generation chip set so I can upgrade in the future. I know the older quad core has alot of bang for the buck but im thinking ahead.
I dont think $200 is alot to spend for a really cool case that i would be using for years to come.

@rubix, the kit at petra does look like a little more bang for the buck but it says socket 775 only. It is also a pro mount, does that mean that I cant get a 1366 block for it?
I am not really in love with the water box, i just want a cool looking case. Have any ideas for a cool looking case for less money? Im all for saving money as long as i am getting what i want.

I would imagine that the D-Tek would have a mount kit for the i7, I didn't see one on Petra's, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there.

If you are wanting to spend the cash, Mountain Mods has some really cool modular DIY cases, but they are pretty pricey.

You can also go with the Antec 900 (I think its on sale at Newegg for around $60 right now) or any other mid tower. I also like the NZXT Rogue http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146043 but I think you might have to make sure your kit will fit. I know people have modded theirs out with dual rads on the sides, etc., but its up to you. My friend has this case, and its pretty good size for a cube, but there is always a question of where to put your rads.

Antec 900 will barely fit a 220 rad in the front with heavy modding. Not a good WC case.

and this case that i found. It is a cheap full tower that will work for now and i might try to try some mods (with help from the forums i hope) later on to fit more rads

my $.02 (Its what I did)

buy a coolermaster 590 ($50) it has two 140mm fan holes on top, install the fans and install the rad on the top of the case... no cutting no fuss.
