you buy one of those usb 1tb storage units from wd or make your own with a drive and case.
then pick up norton ghost or a drive clone or a good back up software. toss out the wd software.
the good software will have a boot cd or boot usb stick that let you recover all your file in about 10 min if the inside drive failed and is replaced.
