Data recovery from dead HDD

What can I do to recover data from dead HDD - not prepared tp pay money for it.

if it not a mec head crash but a controller card failure you could by a used drive on ebay and swap the pcb cards out.

Fixed it. How? Dropped the HDD from table height once on each of its sides. Connected / disconnected 2 or 3 times HDD to computer with SATA/USB adaptor and drive started to work normally. Recovered all data via windows explorer, reinstalled HDD in desktop computer and now running as if nothing had happened.

do a factory test from the maker the drive could be stopping working again
