Data Recovery from old Windows XP Dell

I have an old Dell computer with Windows XP that is rarely used. My best friend died suddenly and we used to Skype on that computer. When I got my new HP computer, I deleted most of the programs in the Dell, including the Skype, just to empty it for games. Then no one ever really used it for anything. Is there some data recovery program that could find the old Skype main.db file with the old conversations in it? We are heartbroken here. Thank you for your time.

Plenty of data recovery programs. Try recuva. The issue is that you were installing the games on it, the files could have easy been over-written, aside from any updates that went into the system that were saved to the disk.

Actually, I am incredibly lazy and never got round to loading any games, just deleted programs and files to clear space for them.
