I'll just keep it simple. I'm planning to switch to a faster internet connection package but there is a monthly volume allowance of 75 GB before my speed is reduced, so my questions are:

1. Let's say I download a 3GB film, does that mean I now have 72GB left in my monthly allowance?
2. Is there any way to monitor how much will these take up in my monthly allowance:
i. General web surfing, streaming youtube videos at 360p, social media usage - in short, Google Chrome
ii. Online gaming - DOTA 2 on Steam
iii. Wifi usage - mobile usage(online games again, general web surfing, streaming videos), streaming videos on my smart tv( i have no control on the video quality on the youtube app integrated)

I've always used unlimited internet so I have no idea how limited internet works. Any other things I should take into consideration before switching package?

Thanks.

Solution
1. Yes if you downloaded a game that is 20GB, you have 55GB left. If you have more than 2 people in your household I would recommend getting a bigger monthly allowance.

2. yes and no, keep reading
i. General web surfing usually takes up almost no data in the grand sceme of things. Streaming youtube at 360p doesn't take too much, for example 30 minutes of 1080p30fps uses about 1.2GB so techically 360p should use 300MB/30mins. Google chrome/social media, not much I wouldn't worry about it unless you load many many images.

ii. Gaming doesnt take up much either but if you game heavily, expect it to take up 20GB of your plan.

iii. Wifi usage, same principle as above applies. Video streaming does use alot of data, when streaming regularly...

Hope this helps!
