Hey,

I'd like to store a private stash of healthy OS files on an external drive that I can use to replace corrupted files. I've built computers for a couple of my siblings and we all have the same OS (Windows 8.1). I just thought that might be a good thing to have on hand. Is it possible? Is it a stupid idea? I'd appreciate any feedback!

Solution
Not worthwhile. Those files can and do change with every monthly update.

Much better to create an image of each Windows drive, and store that.

That's true... Thanks!
