date is wrong! how to fix on my MacBook Air

I took pictures on different dates wth different cameras this summer but they are all saying the date taken January 1 2006! How can I fix this!

Unfortunately there is no way to go back to find the original date and time of the pics. Are the pictures still in the cameras also?
