Date reset to 2000

My pc crashed today and the date reset to the year 2000 :s is there anything to worry about? since then my pc has been fine but i had a few problems after 2 restarts when the problem happened (itunes and safari wouldnt load and itunes helper showed 25% cpu usage)

It seems ok now and ive ran Virus scans and stuff its just weird :s

Your CMOS (Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) battery is dieing or dead. This is just a little watch battery that sits on your motherboard that keeps track of the date time and a few inventory features of your BIOS. This is very annoying but will not affect system performance.

Is it definitely on its way out or will it just be a one off thing, like should i be expecting it to happen again until i replace the battery?
