Hi Everyone

I am currently trying to wipe my two hard drives of my computer I wish to sell. I have installed dban 2.2.7 on a bootable usb, which loads up fine. However when I get to the dban menu the only device that is found is the usb that the dban software is on.

Am I doing something wrong? Any help is always appreciated,

Thanks

Hi

what motherboard do you have ?

DBAN 2.2.7 is fairly old and may not work with lattest motherboard chipsets or unusual raid controllers

latest version I have used is 2.30

If you have a DVD drive try burning ISO of DBAN to a CD-r or DVD-r

Alternative method
boot up from recent Windows DVD or USB , take advanced options to remove all partitions, create one new partition per HDD then do a Full Format (un-tick quick format box)
(requires Vista or latter)

Alternative get Hirens Boot CD use Western Digital Data Lifeguard for Windows to do a full erase wipe of HDD

Hi Mike thanks for the reply. My motherboard is the Asus Maximus Extreme 3. My PC is running Windows 7. I shall try your suggestions, starting with booting from the Windows DVD.

Thanks for the help =D
