I'm having trouble with my dd-wrt as well, I can't get onto the internet! I have two router/modems (I don't know the difference... I have a tp link TL-WR841ND v8 and a netcomm. I have tried apart everything, please help!

"I have tried apart everything", is not very usefull to us as we have no idea what you have and have not tried.

The tp-link is what your router is, and netcomm whatever is your modem.
A modem takes the connection from your ISP and converts it to etherent (both as a cable type and as a protocol).
A router takes that single IP address and Ethernet connection and provides all of the logic, addressing and basic security to allow multiple computers to use it.

Now "netcomm" does not help me much because you did not state a model number.
If the netcomm box is a cable modem (your ISP sends it's data over a TV Coax cable), then you should have DD-WRT set to automatic dhcp in the WAN side.
If it is a dls modem (internet over your phone line)...

If it is a dls modem (internet over your phone line) then DD-WRT needs to be set to PPPoE type connection and you need the username and password from your ISP. You may also need the IP address, subnet, and gateway address if they are using Static and not Dynamic configuration.
