Hi there

I have recently built my own pc with an Asus M5A97 PRO motherboard, AMD x6 1055t 125w processor, 8gb Corsair1600C9 DDR3 Dual Channel memory with a Radeon 7850 Graphics card.

The problem i'm getting is the computer is only showing 4gb of memory, I have windows 7 64bit system. Looking in the bios its also just showing 4gb in dimm1!! Could this be a compatability issue, did find out that Kingston memory is reccomended!

Need some help please

Regards

Simon

Power the system down and re-seat the memory. Verify that they are plugged in properly in the correct slots. Try again. BTW, make sure no foreign objects fell into the slots when you remove the RAM.

Good luck!

Often properly setting the RAM in the BIOS with the correct settings including voltages corrects this problem. The Phenom II X6 and Phenom II X4 generally also require either a FSB -> 240MHz or CPU-NB Frequency -> 2400MHz with DDR3-1600 plus the other settings (DRAM Frequency, CAS Timings, DRAM Voltage, and once in a while CPU-NB Voltage -> +0.10v~+0.20v)

Q - What exact RAM? ; provide a link
