I have had my build for nearly 3 years and i have always had a EKWB-100-DDC. This pump res combo has failed on me twice now. The first one and now its replacement (same one). Luckily, the system is still in warranty. I rang the shop and i asked for an upgraded combo because clearly this one isn't making the cut. They said they would change me to the D5 variant of the pump res combo.

-What is the difference
-What are the pros and cons
-Has anyone used or got experience with the EKWB-100-D5

Thanks in advance

D5 is higher overall flow rate, DDC is designed for more restrictive loops.

Sounds like something else might be going on...I've had four different D5 pumps and six DDC pumps over the 18 years I have watercooled and never had an issue...all still function correctly to this day.

Were either pumps run without water or coolant, or were they spun without coolant during filling and priming at all?

Do you have highly restrictive loop that prevented the pump from moving coolant or stuck on an airlock for any period of time?
