If a mobo calls for DDR2-533/667/800 would putting DDR2-400 in cause the BIOS not to work (e.g. monitor goes black when system is powered up)?

Splendid
Not just because it's DDR2-400 RAM. However, DDR2-400 is from the brutal dawn of the DDR2 age, and as such, more likely to have incompatibilities with MBs than is currently-produced DDR2 RAM.
