Why is it impossible to find DDR2 4GB NON-ECC RAM modules at a reasonable price anywhere? All other DDR2 modules 2GB or less can be had for very reasonable prices.

Even DDR3 4GB modules are cheaper than DDR2 4GB. You can also find ECC DDR2 4GB modules for good prices.

I have checked prices at many sites, and everywhere I go it's just a price-gouging festival for DDR2 4GB RAM modules.

What's the skinny? I mean, who would spend $50+ (used) or $100+ (new) for one stick of 4GB DDR2 RAM when the only systems that can use them are worth as much or less than the RAM itself? You can find perfectly fine, business-class, general-use DDR2 PCs for $50-100.

That's what I have been gathering in my research, however I still don't get it because as time progresses there will be even less demand for it since there will less working DDR2 PCs that can handle a 4GB stick than there are now. Seems to me, it would be a better business strategy to unload it sooner than later (at a higher price, but not 10-15x times the price of 2GB stick lol).

Old RAM isn't like antique trinket people want to hang on their wall. lol Will be interesting to see in 5 years if prices for DDR2 4GB sticks start to plummet as dealers try to dump their dead stock of DDR2 4GB RAM sticks.

DDR PCs are rare but you don't see a 1GB PC3200 400MHz RAM stick selling for $100. lol I've seen it as low as $5.49 per stick brand new.
