DDR2 800Mhz instead of 667 Mhz in laptop

Can a 800Mhz memory module be used in a 667Mhz laptop?

In most cases like 99% of the time it will work just fine, however the 800mhz ram will run at 667.

What is the make and model of your laptop, some times the laptop boards can use faster ram than they come with becuase the manufacture may only use 1 board for multiple computer models.

Hi, Thanks for your answer. It's an Acer Aspire 5570Z.
Can modules be mixed eg. 800 with a 667?

From what i can see that computer can use a max of 2 gigs of ram, and the spec says its ddr2 553.

The information is a little spotty but I think it should work just fine.
