Hey All,

i have just bought a computer that came with a Q9400 to as it came at a really good deal, i am trying to buy some more ram as it only came with 2GB DDR2 when im on ebay the majority is DDR2 for AMD only and they are significantly cheaper then normal ddr2 memory. Will the AMD DDR2 work on the intel despite what its claiming? The ram will be going in a HP DC7900 SFF PC.

Solution
I can't see any difference in the specs, but when they specifically state "Please note that this item can not work in any intel cpu motherboard.", I believe them. What have they got to gain by lying?
The Q9400 does not have a memory controller. It is an older FSB model where the memory controller is on the motherboard. You may find that HP has even locked this to work only with RAM they sell.
