So I own this motherboard: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=377

I have 4GB of OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 RAM found here http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-ddr2-pc2-8500-platinum-low-voltage-dual-channel-eol.html

It should be running at 1066 but it only runs at 800.. I tried to mess with the RAM timmings but in all honestly I have no idea what im doing in this department. If anyone could help here that would be great.

I think the biggest problem is that the RAM is not on the support list for the motherboard (correct?).
All the ram that the motherboard says it supports doesn't seem to be made anymore and is hard to find so i'm wondering what my best bet is to get 8GB of DDR2 running at 1066?

Thanks for any help. If you need any more info please ask,

After a little searching my timings are now set correctly (i believe lol) and CPU ID is reporting the frequency at 533.4 Mhz and since it is dual channel that should be 1066 :p

Guess I got lucky with it not being on the supported list, or maybe that list is irrelevant.

Would love for some suggestions on 8GB of DDR2 (looking for the best bang for the buck).

Thanks

Got it stable at 5-5-5-18 tRC=26 CR=2T @ 2.1 Volts

I think I can lower the tRAS from 18 to 15, but in all honestly i doubt that's going to be much a performance gain, time will tell.

I guess i'm on my own as far as figuring out what RAM i should upgrade to.
