Hello,
I have HP Compaq 6910p laptop with 2 Gig of ram. I want to upgrade it to 3 or 4 gig.
In windows 7 32-bit, CPU-z shows my memory as DDR2 2048 Mbytes, DRAM Frequency 332.6 Mhz

In Linux 32-bit, lshw tool shows as SODIMM DDR2 Synchronous 667 MHz (1.5 ns).

I bought a SODIM DDR2 RAM which is 667 Mhz but in Windows neithr CPU-z nor windows itself detect it.

What should I get to upgrade my laptop's memory?

Thanks...

Go to a site that sells memory and buy a DDR2-667 compatible module. CPU-z reports the base frequency which has to be multiplied by 2 for DDR (Double Data Rate) memory. CPU-z can be used to check what module(s) is(are) installed in your system. Did you check the SPD tab?

Here are the compatible Kingston modules (as found at the link that you provided):

KTH-ZD8000A/1G 1GB 533MHz Module
KTH-ZD8000A/2G 2GB 533MHz Module
KTH-ZD8000B/1G 1GB 667MHz Module
KTH-ZD8000B/2G 2GB 667MHz Module

Since you already have a 2GB Hynix module (HYMP325S64AMP8-Y5), why didn't you buy another one to ensure compatibility?

I think I will return the ram I bought. I've already talked and HP dealer and asked for a compatible memory.

maybe it is better to get directly from the dealer...

thanks
