Not the same as they use different voltages, but possible that they could work together at 2.2V -- or not.

Mixing memory is always a gamble, which is why they sell it in sets that guarantee they will work together.

I've had many modules that will work together fine and a reasonable number that will not.

What motherboard and CPU are you using with the memory?
