Alright to keep this short and sweet, i'm running windows 7, Zotac GeForce 9300 Mobo with an intel Q6600. Been having random blue screens lately that all keep coming back to corrupt memory being a potential cause, so i've been shopping around for new modules. Today the PC went out on me and would just blue screen every time windows loaded so i decided to shut it down and check my memory modules. Out of 4 ONE of them was getting so hot that i couldn't touch it. I pulled it out and borrowed a 1gig replacement module from my friend and the systems been running fine since ( few hours). ( I have 4X 1 gig modules right now btw, looking to step up to 8gig if all is well)
Is it safe to assume the memory module is the culprit? I can't afford a new mainboard right now and i'm going to buy some new ram/ HDD and some other parts tomorrow to bring this old thing back up to speed. But i don't want to spend money on this if the mainboard is going to fail
