Hi, I have the GIGABYTE EP43-UD3L Motherboard with 8GB of DDR2 RAM at 800MHz but my Motherboard says it can be overclocked to 1,200MHz but I don't know if my type of RAM can do that. I have 4 sticks.

2 sticks of OCZ Reaper 2GB PC2 6400 and 2 sticks of Kingston HyperX 4GB PC2 8500.

My Processor was originally the Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 but back in 2012 I upgraded to the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 from eBay and got the GIGABYTE GTX 670.

Thanks.

OCZ is 800MHz, Kingston is 1066. The BIOS usually takes the lowest frequency in the modules, I think they are working at 800. If you want to push up the MHz, the OCZ will suffer more than Kingston and will need more voltage. I don´t recomend to do OC, because they will rise up the temps (4 modules of DDR2 generates lots of heat) and I think you can´t go more than 1066. Speed in RAM is not very important for work, and for games there will not be much improvement.
