i've got an ASUS M2N-E mobo with Athlon X2 4600+ 1gb stick of Corsair XMS2 6400 C5 (using Vista ultimate)
should i replace my 1gb with 2X1gb XMS2 6400 C4 or Dominator 6400 C4
or should i buy an additional 1gb XMS2 6400 C5?
theres a lot of talk about C4 corsair with EPP profiles, im a newbie & dont know which is best.
if i go for C4 with EPP will i see a huge difference over C5 without EPP?
thanks in advance

EPP does not improve the performance of RAM. It is designed to allow the motherboard to automatically set voltage as well as frequency and timings for the RAM - which you can do yourself in the BIOS. It is merely a convenience.

so then, which is best, bearing in mind i aint got a clue when it comes to overclocking
XMS2 6400 C5 or C4? (already got 1gb of C5)
Big gains with C4?

Hmm. Probably not big gains.

I'm afraid I don't know much about overclocking AMD X2, so I'm leery about advising you. Perhaps some AMD expert will make an appearance.

i say go ahead and get the matching stick xms2 c5 , i dont think you will see much difference. i think you are better having matching and since you dont overclock you will be fine.

I guess I should clarify a bit. The actual sticks are not very different in performance, but your original question up top is along the right lines: you DO want to run in dual-channel mode, so buying another similar 1GB stick is a good idea, especially as RAM prices are finally starting to drop a bit.
