Hello all,

I just put together the following system:

Processor: AMD PHENOM II X6 1090T BE AM3
Memory: 2X CORSAIR 4GB DDR31600 DIMM XMS
Motherboard: ASUS M4N68T-M V2
SSD: GSkill 120 GB FM25S2S120GBP2 SSD

When I use CPU-Z to view the memory specs, this is what I see:

memoryff.jpg

It seems to only be showing as pc3-10700h (667mhz)

I went into the bios and matched the timing of the memory to the settings - 9x9x9x24, and set overvoltage to 1.65. What am I doing wrong here?

Yes, set it too 800 MHz. clockspeed. Your RAM is "DDR3" = Double Data Rate, meaning two read or write ops per cycle, so if you set it for 800 MHz. then it runs at 2 times 800 MHz. = 1600 Mhz.

BTW, you read the actual system RAM frequency from the MEMORY tab not the SPD tab. The SPD tab shows the possible speeds and latencies for the particular RAM you have installed.

Most AMD Phenom II CPUs will run good RAM @ 1600 MHz. stable. The X6 Thurban CPUs will often run a little higher RAM frequency than the Deneb X4 CPUs but unfortunatley the higher RAM frequency makes very little diff in sysytem performance because it is not a bottleneck for the system like older DDR/DDR2 RAM was.
