Question DDR3 1866 on a MOBO that caps at 1600

Too late now, but I just noticed that my MOBO might be capped at 1600 for ram. Other the specs it says this
"DDR3 1066/1333/1600"

My ram is this

Again too late now, but I just want to confirm that my ram is not being optimized on my current MOBO, on default settings. I haven't looked into OC the ram yet.
Am I right? my ram is too high for my MOBO.

I am in the process of getting more DDR3 ram. I might just sell my current ram, if it is overkill at DDR3 1866, and look into purchasing all used DDR3 1600.
