Could anyone please help me? Im looking for RAMs that's compatible with my AMD Athlon x2 255. Im currently looking at a HyperX Fury 8gb 1600Mhz and I want to know if it's compatible with it. or maybe could anyone tell me a good RAM suggestion. (P.S. im still a student and cant really buy a better one other than this one im using right now. Im only playing League of Legends and some similar games like it so im pretty content on my PC for now, just need a RAM upgrade to my 2x2gb DDR3.) Thanks in advance.

You're right. I forgot you said you were previously using DDR3. My bad for not paying attention.

The MHz rating on the RAM is just the max speed the RAM is rated to be stable for. 1600MHz RAM will run at any MHz your board's BIOS can be set for. If you leave everything at default settings, the RAM will probably default to 1066MHZ or 1333MHz.
Yes, with one caveat... *
AMD Athlon IIs and Phenom IIs are good with most any DDR3 (unbuffered) RAM. You are fine as long as your board is DDR3. I've built a ton of those K10 systems and rarely (if ever) found an issue with DDR3 memory.

*There is one thing to know tho... since the Athlon II X2 255 works with both DDR2 and DDR3, make sure your motherboard uses DDR3. Older boards from that era were still DDR2.

so it doesn't matter what Mhz the RAM is, as long as it's DDR3? because I remember there's a 1800Mhz and 1600Mhz HyperX Fury 8gb DDR3.
I just want to be sure before I buy it.

Im very certain my board uses DDR3 because it's what im using right now, it has 2 slots for DDR3 RAMs.
Thanks clutchc.
