Currently i have ocz reaper ddr2 800mhz, and im looking to upgrade my board but the one im looking at is ddr3 1066/1333 etc so will my ram work in the new board?

Grim187 Honorable Mar 2, 2013 16 0 10,510 Mar 5, 2013 #3 why? i dont see a problem with having the bios detect the ddr version and switching the voltage accordingly...or even a physical switch on the board. unless its base structure of the nb i dont see a problem with it having compatibility with all 5 versions. im assuming its cost, an extra feature that isn't needed and would take to much extra time to develop/manufacture. just googling around and found this thread, sorry for bumping an old one.
