When upgrading video cards there...



When upgrading video cards there are 2 main concerns:


1. Does the system have a power supply with enough wattage.

2. Does the motherboard have the proper slot for the video card.


A discrete video cards ram type has nothing to do with system ram type.

What memory type or speed your graphic card has installed on it does not matter or has no relationship with the RAM on your motherboard. They are 2 completely different things and work independently of each other.
All you need for the graphic card to work is the correct slot to plug it in, and a PSU powerful enough to run it.
