Hi,
So my gf has this old laptop Asus x552l, after a quick check online i noticed that it runs on 4gb of ddr3l memory, i han anoher 4bg module laying around (but it is a ddr 3 one), but decided i should give it a try.
Instaled it, opened the laptop...noticed that the laptop sees all the 8gbs of ram...seemed to run ok.
But after i googled it saw some posts where other people encountered issues... like fried they're rams after a while.
Soooo, what do u think...will it be allright? or should i plug them out?

Solution
Check the specs of your RAM module. If it's spec states 1.35v, it will be fine. If it states 1.5v. it may attempt to draw more power that the slot is designed for (causing slots to burn out).
