DDR3 or DDR4?

Hello I just bought 16gb of DDR3 ram 1800MHz (2x8) and I was wondering if I maybe should return the 2 ram sticks to the store as I have heard that DDR4 is much better than DDR3. Also what clock speed should I use if I decide to buy DDR4? Alsmost everything I do on my pc is gaming.

My specs:
Motherboard - MS 7826 VER: 1.0 (might be upgrading soon?)
GPU - gtx 1050ti 4GB Vram (might be upgrading soon)
CPU - Intel Core i7-4770 3.40 Ghz
SSD - Samsung 860 evo 500GB
HDD - SanDisk 2TB
OS - Windows 10 64-bit

You can't just pick one over the other - whether your system need DDR3 or DDR4 is decided by your CPU and motherboard - your CPU is a 4th generation chip, so you'll need DDR3 RAM. DDR4 RAM will physically not fit in your motherboard.

So if I buy a new motherboard that can support DDR4 should I go with it or stick with DDR3?

If you buy a new motherboard with DDR4, then you'll also need a new cpu for it.

Then you'll also have to consider CPU-motherboard compatibility. Basically, if you want DDR4 RAM, you'll need to upgrade the CPU, motherboard and the RAM together, to something more modern. Intel 6th gen and above, and AMD's Ryzen processors work with DDR4 memory.

Unless you want to upgrade the processor and motherboard as well, you should stick with DDR3.
