First off, here is the rig om going to get (suggestions on components welcome):
All of these from Newegg-
AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE 3.2 GHz
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7,200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0gb/s
Corsair CMPSU 750TX 750W ATX12V
EVGA Nvidia Geforce 295 GTX
ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme gamer
NZXT Tempest- not sure 'bout this
Enzotech Extreme Xrev 120mm cpu cooler
OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3G1600LV6GK

The Ram is what I am here to ask about. I chose this because its 6gb ddr3, and its just as good as its Corsair counterpart, but $70 cheaper. However, i recently noticed it says 'made specifically for core i7', does this mean i can't use it at its full potential or use it at all?

Ignore that marketing c***. DDR3 is the same for Intel or Amd boards. When selecting ddr, you look at the voltage specs and be sure your system will boot up. The ocz says it is low voltage, meaning 1.5-1.6 volts. It should work with your new asus board. If you have any post problems, try just one stick and bump up the ram voltage in the bios by .1 volts.

It'll work, but you'll have to use only 4GB of it or have it run in single channel mode. The reason it is for i7 is because it is a set of 3 matched sticks, and is meant to be run in triple channel.

So would i be able to run 4 sticks of CORSAIR XMS3 12GB (6 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 at its full potential? And if not what's some good ddr3 1600 ram you guys would recommend for me (6gb-8gb, or what can fit the 4 slots in the mobo).
