ddr3 ram on a skylake cpu?

my friends trying to build a pc, and so am i. i have some spare 16 gb ddr3 ram from corsair i want to give him, will there be any issues?

if its skylake it should but what is the mobo.

While there are some DDR3 motherboards for Skylake CPUs, most are DDR4.

I use Skylake and DDR3...
Motherboard: AsRock Fatal1ty Gaming K4/D3

I bought that motherboard because I got a great deal and I was planning on re-using my DDR3 RAM.
However, I found out that the Skylake CPU's need DDR3L which is a low voltage version. Apperently the CPU memory controller could become damaged if you use regular DDR3 and I wasn't willing to take that risk so i bought DDR3L RAM.
