DDR3 vs DDR4

I'm getting new gpu's and was gonna get new ram and noticed they were ddr3 i don't think my motherboard supports ddr4, it's a Asus ROG crosshair v formula z so if it does let me know but otherwise I'm wondering if there's much of a difference between ddr3 and 4, if it would be worth getting a new motherboard if mine doesn't support it.

It doesn't support DDR4 .

No DDR4 support, but it wouldn't have been worth getting over DDR3 anyway. Not for gaming anyway.
