DDR3 Vs DDR4

Hello, I am currently thinking on whether to upgrade to skylake (I5 6600K) and to save prices I would purchase a cheaper DDR3 motherboard and use my current 8GB of DDR3 Ram, but would I notice a difference if I do this. I will only be using this board for gaming

what is your current setup ?
note, that skylake only allows lpddr3 which runs at significantly lower voltage. doubt that this is your case.

Your current DDR3 IS 1.5V and will eventually cause damage to your setup if you go to 1151 , you need DDR3L.
