DDR3L 2GB Memory in a laptop

I'm not that knowledgeable with computer specs but the laptop I'm going to buy only has 2GB DDR3L Memory but can be expandable to 8GB, can this laptop at least run games? And if I were to expand the memory to 8GB, how do I exactly do that?

Make and model of your laptop, please? It'd help us two fold if we knew of your ram's make and model. An image of it would help as well. If you can find a link for the stick of ram, it'll do either way. If you'd like to host a pic, save the image on imgur and then parse the link on the post/thread.
