Since you chose the 4790k it will not support DDR4, stick to DDR3 as that is your only choice.

If your happy to pay the money for it then yes (dont forget you will need a different motherboard too). It depends if the programs you use are multi-core optimised. i.e. Gaming benefits from less faster cores (4790k) and editing is more tailored towards more cores (5820k) but both are overclockable so core speed is sort of irrelevant.
