So i recently built a new computer that includes an i5 6600k which i will keep at stock speeds for now, and 2133 mhz ram. my friend told me that i made a big mistake going with the 2133 mhz since the 2400 mhz was only 10$ more. would the difference have been noticeable? i cant help but feel as if i made the wrong decision.
Games which i mostly play: GTA5, CSGO, TW3, and KF2

Thanks!

For DDR4 2133Mhz is rather low but the good news is that most of the time you would only get a couple more FPS and that is using DDR4 3000Mhz or more. There are a few games that scale better and get more like 10-20FPS more but they are very few and far between. If you are using the Igpu then Ram speeds tend to matter more than if you use a Dedicated GPU. So if you have a dedicated card then don't worry. Also you could try overclocking your current memory as DDR4 2133Mhz is some of the slowest DDR4 made making it quite possible that you can get a couple hundred free Mhz out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get it to 2400Mhz or even more with at most a slight increase in Ram voltage. In hindsight it would have been better to spend the extra $10 dollars but that is in the past so make the most of what you have.

The DDR4 standard is 2133MHz, every other higher than that is just factory overcloked. The difference in speed between them is hardly noticeable, specially for gaming. It was not a big mistake, but you could buy the other one for just 10$ more, although no game uses that speed at all. Here's a vid proving that. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=45ZLO4kLDJs
