I just bought a new motherboard, processor, and some ddr4 ram and it isn't working. I get a debug code of 55. Which specifies as a "memory initialization error". I'm using a single 8GB stick and I've tried every slot. I pulled out the CMOS battery for 15 minutes and still no hope. Anybody know if my motherboard doesn't support my RAM (it should), or could the debug code also mean something else? My processor might not support it, although it should. I do only have my SSD plugged in. (Might be an issue??)

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 6
RAM - Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB @ 2400 (single stick)
Processor - i5 6600k

Got my new RAM in the mail today. It is the same brand but 2 sticks (2X4 8GB) and it still gives me the error code 55. Should I try re-seating my CPU or is this a motherboard issue?

Ok unplug all your drives and clear Cmos by pulling the battery for 5 minutes. Then with all drives disconnected try just the motherboard, cpu, and RAM. See if it posts and if you can enter bios. You may need to restart if you see OS not found.

So it seems like you can only boot with 2133 RAM and then change settings in the BIOS to allow the use of the higher speed memory. All of the memory listed on Gigabytes website has O.C. next to it except the 2133.

Support for DDR4 3466(O.C.) /3400(O.C.) /3333(O.C.) /3300(O.C.) /3200(O.C.) /3000(O.C.) /2800(O.C.) /2666(O.C.) /2400(O.C.) /2133 MHz memory modules

Now if you can somehow get into the BIOS without some 2133...
