Question DDR4-2666 CL16 (1.2V) vs CL13 (1.35V) XMP

Recently I opted for a memory: 16GB HyperX Fury JEDEC/XMP: DDR4-2666MHz-CL16 (1.2V), over 16GB HyperX Predator JEDEC: DDR4-2400MHz-CL17 (1.2V); XMP Profile1: DDR4-2666MHz-CL13 (1.35V), because I feared that the XMP Profile (+0.15V) would create instability in the system. Did I choose well?

Well, some say that the extra voltage overheats the CPU, shortening its life. So I feared it’ll lead to a lack of durability and instability, since the default setting is 1.2V.

Modern CPUs have built in IMC (Internal Memory Controller) and it has own voltage setting, mostly about 1 - 1.1v, RAM voltage doesn't influence that.

Well, in this case the default of 1.2V has to be completely safe. 😃

Yep. 1.2v or 1.35v is perfectly normal. You'll see 1.35v at 3200 or better usually as the ram needs the additional voltage to reach and maintain those speeds.
