I have been having a few performance issues with my graphics card and I was recommended on buildapc to set my dram frequency to the advertised 3000 (2933 since I have AMD ryzen 3). However, when doing this my computer fails to start. I am 100% sure that is the problem because when I change back the setting in my bios everything is fine.
It defaults to 1.350V which shows up as red in my bios. Maybe that has to do with the problem?

So my question is, how can I try fixing this? Should I decrease the voltage? If I can't get it to 2933 should I try something lower like 2400? If so what voltage?

My build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ff2vzM

Changing RAM frequency's is not going to fix a GPU performance issue.

If your RAM kit is not on your mobo's memory compatibility list then it may not be able to boot at 3000mhz. If 2933mhz is as high as you can get stable, that is fine.

My mobo also changes color whenever I go above the JDEC standard for DDR4 of 1.2v. If the kit was advertised at 1.35v (it's 3000mhz so it more than likely is) then 1.35v is fine.

It is advertised at 3000mhz at 1.35v. But I can't get it to work, my computer fails to start. Could I try something like 2400mhz and like 1.25v?

What RAM kit are you using and what board?

Try 2666mhz if you cant get 2933mhz or increase the timings CAS# RAS# to CAS # RAS ACT TIME# by 1 while at 2933mhz and try again. I wouldn't go all the way down to 2400mhz, it should do better than that. You can leave it at 1.35v it's fine, it might run stable at lower speeds like 2666mhz or 2400mhs with less voltage, try if you want want you wont hurt anything just don't go above 1.35v.

I have a link to my build in the first post. When I set the voltage to 1.35 it turns red in my bios. Should I try it anyway? If I set it to 1.34 or lower it is no longer red.
