The ASRock AB350M Pro4 motherboard says it supports up to DDR4 2667 MHz. But can I use one stick of DDR4 3200 (I understand it wouldn't perform at that speed, it's just what I already have on hand)?

And if not, could that be the reason the pc won't turn on?

Solution
usually the mainboard if is friendly with the ram will boot and make it work at 2133, you can set it to 2400 once you get into bios

if the mainboard is cooperative

Thanks for the response. Right now I can't even get the system to power up. I know it's not the PSU, the ram seems like the next likely culprit.

is it a new build? your first build?

check fans connected into the right places, cpu fan with the fan of the heatsink, the eatx 12v into the 4 or 8 pin connector on the mainboard

insert properly the gpu into the pci express slot, check basic things and insert the ram into the right slot, if it is only one module put it on dimm 0 or dimm 1

Not my first build but made a couple rookie mistakes. Had a couple things plugged in the wrong places. Got it figured out though. Thanks for your help.
