Trying to push my 4090 without doing a board swap and cpu swap. Currently using a z-490 aorus master MB and a 10700k , I'm curious if swapping from my 4 8GB sticks of 3600 to 2 16GB sticks of 4800 will show any significant increase, realistically looking for 8-10 fps in 4k. I'm just trying to stablize the fps a smidge more, it usually sits around 120-140 fps , I'm trying to get it to sit at 135/140.

Intel doesn't "scale" to RAM speed the same way that AMD does. Not to say it doesn't matter at all, but not nearly the performance left on the table for some reason. Best bet with Intel is to stick with what is recommended for the chip/generation.

Just overclock the existing memory, that motherboard likely won't go much more over DDR4-4000 anyway

Says its rated for 5k but I'm no memory guru either, I could only view performance test done from youtubers comparing diff memory set ups and most of the test showed 1080p and 1440, very few 4k test have been done and those had mostly been ddr5 4800 vs ddr4 3600 not to mention the gap difference was much smaller in 4k, I'm guessing due to the GPU doing most of the work in 4k.
