DDR4: DIMM vs SODIMM

Would these two RAM sticks perform the same:

micron 8GB 2400mhz DIMM DDR4

micron 8GB 2400mhz SODIMM DDR4

And would it be better to get the really cheap SODIMM sticks and get a converter to DIMM?

The adapters add latency etc to the equations, and soDIMM timings are typically looser.

Benchmarked performance, in a desktop, the true DDR4 DIMM should outperform.
