I cant seem to get the memory to 3000mhz. its just annoying since it says it will run that speed but I cant seem to get it there. Ram is currently at 2800 with xmp enabled the motherboard is gigabyte Aorus pro wifi, i5-9600K, gpu is a 2070 xc theres so much on the web about it but none of it really helped. it was at 2600 but I managed to reach 2800 but that seems about as far as I can get it to go. any suggestions or ideas?

yep xmp profile 1 is all there is and its set at 3000 but even that alone only took it to 2600. I had to mess around to get it to 2800.
Odd. I also have an i5-9600K, but on an MSI Z390A-Pro board using G.Skill RAM (Aegis 16GB (2x8GB)), and the XMP 3000MHz setting worked fine. And my RAM is cheaper than yours. My XMP also only has one profile. Have you got the latest BIOS/UEFI for the board?

it reads at 3000mhz with only one module. one module was very selective while one worked at 3000mhz in all dimms the other module had to be in certain dimms to read 3000mhz is that normal? I will try to load bios defaults and try again.
