So I'm looking to buying the helios. There are two diff ones with the differences being the ddr and the i7, and wanted to know if the 200$ difference is worth it for the ddr5 and i7 875 instead of the ddr4 and i7 7700

here is the more expensive one

IS the 200$ more worth it?

Solution
The i7-8750H is the superior processor. All else being equal it is the better choice, and it looks like it has a 1TB hard drive as well

There are no commercially available DDR5 systems, let alone consumer. As usual these retailers just kind of toss numbers wherever they want.

GDDR5 is the video memory. G for Graphics which is separate from the DDR4 that both these systems have. As they both have GTX1060 6GB they both have GDDR5.

Both units use DDR4 since DDR5 isn't available yet unless you're referring to GDDR5 which is RAM on the 1060 GTX.

i7 7700hq vs i7-8750h

The 8750h is slightly faster by about 10% in FPS terms but more in Rendering usage. Basically, the 7700hq is just the older version and the rest of the laptops specs are the same.

There is no DDR5. Both have the same GTX 1060 6GB with GDDR5. Both have 16GB of DDR4. The main difference is the CPU. The 7700HQ is a quad core with 8 threads (SMT). The 8750H is a 6 core CPU with 12 threads (SMT). The 8750H has more cache as well (9MB vs 6MB).

The 8750H would be a better overall CPU.
