Question DDR5 slots

New motherboard (Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master)
There are the usual 4 RAM slots
I will be installing Corsair Vengeance 2 x 32GB modules .... assuming slot 1 is nearest to CPU, is there any restriction on which pairs I can use ?
Thinking it best to use slots 3 & 4 due to Cooler size.

Dual channel configuration is always a2/b2, second and forth slot from cpu. Cpu -> a1 a2 b1 b2 -> edge of board.

What cooler have you got and orientation? Can you raise fan if it is protruding over the second dimm slot?

I h ave Thermalright Phantom spirit 120 EVO
I'll try a fit together tonight

Fan is fastened to heatsink with wire and can be raised, long as your case is wide enough to have it clear ram in the second slot and panel closed.

Just tried it ... clears RAM by about 10mm.
Was concerned as read here that Corsair Vengeance could foul cooler, I chose the Phantom spirit 120 EVO as it looked like heatsinks stood up more than on the Thermalright Peerless Assassin .... plus I like idea of much newer style fans and a lot less noise.
