I know next to nothing about demuxing / remuxing software; I don’t even have any hands on experience with conventional video editing software. But someone at Anandtech said that for simple scene cutting of a 1080p Blu-ray movie disc that de/remuxing software is way faster than something like Vegas Pro. All I’d want to do is to cut out a few offensive scenes of a few BDs in my collection. But aside from a decrypter like AnyDVDHD that I would also be need, the Anandtech poster didn’t specify the name of the software. But once you decrypt and copy the BD movie’s file folders to the system or storage drive how do you “unpack” them and then render the scene you want to snip the desired minutes out? Also, what de/remuxing software can recognize and allow you to cut a BD movie’s lossless dts master audio soundtrack along with the 1080p BD movie’s video?

And after you do the desired cutting within the BD’s menu can you simply save the changes? If yes then what software to select what disc format to burnthe folders to a BD-RE which will play on JRiver? Ordo I have to create a new menu? Please advise.

First you need to go online and do some additional reading regarding demuxing/remuxing etc. to further your understanding of the topic and what all is involved.

Second, you need to download and test any potential candidate apps to the point where you can easily do what need to be done and that are confident that the software meets your requirements (technical and otherwise). Cutting, saving, directing saved files to specific locations, etc..

Third, be certain that all subject files are fully backed up at least 2 x to locations other than the current host location. Verify that the backups (both original files and edited files) are proven recoverable and readable.

There are any number of software tools available. How to work them and how well they work for your requirements will vary. One tool may be very user friendly but perform very poorly.

Go online, look for software that allows free trials: either fully or partially functional. Check the required hardware specs and read the User Manuals. Then download and test to determine if any given application product meets your requirements and will not drag down your system.

Most software apps provide hardware requirements in the form of Minimal, Recommended, and Best. You do not want Minimal and you do want as much Best as available and affordable.

There are always trade-offs.
